Does your dark, gloomy apartment need a burst of brightness? Illuminate any room in your home with this ingenious small apartment hack: DIY Pendant Light Trio! If you’re the kind who loves to DIY his or her way into solving common design problems, you’ll love this tutorial because it will only take an hour or less to complete! No need to whip up the advance tools because you’ll only need a couple of basic tools too.
The trio of pendant light looks nice at a glance but the real show happens once you turn the lights on. You’ll love how the patterned design of the bowls shows through! Are you ready to add a cozy warm glow to your interiors? Let’s get started!
You will need:
3 pcs. Nesting bowl
1 nylon cord set
3 clear light bulbs
Step 1: Prepping the Nesting Bowls
Start the project by prepping the nesting bowls. You can get nesting bowls that come in graduated sizes or a set of same-sized bowls. You can also choose to make a single pendant light if you like; this is a customizable project so the final look of this small apartment hack will depend on you!
Using your tin snip, cut a hole in the middle of the bowl’s base. The hole should be wide enough to find the end of a light cord. Insert the end of the cord to the hole. The end of the cord is where you’ll attach the light bulb later on. Secure the end of the cord by screwing the ring attachment on the other side.
Step 2: Installing the Light Bulb
Once the end of the light cord has been installed in the nesting bowl, move on to attaching the light bulb. Just screw the bulb into the end of the cord.
Test the light bulb out by attaching the cord to the light source. Repeat the process until all the light bulbs were affixed to the nesting bowls. After attaching the light bulbs to the nesting bowls, your new set of pendant lights are complete.
Step 3: Installing the Pendant Light Trio
After completing the pendant light set, I highly suggest getting a pendant light hook installed on the ceiling. This way, you can simply hang the pendant lights easily. You can get the hook from your nearest hardware store!
On the other hand, if you would like to use a vertical structure to hang the lights, such as a leaning ladder, you can. Just secure the electric cords using a metal clamp or several nylon cable ties.
Hang the pendant lights and arrange them as you please then set them into place with the nylon ties or metal clamps and you’re done. You can install the pendant lights in any room, particularly in the dining room, living room, or the bedroom.
